The Villanova Artist Collective started out as an Artist Community House located in West Los Angeles. In 2009 the space was initiated as housing for Otis College of Art and Design students. "The reason we started the house was because as busy art students, new to the city, we were seeking community and connection. So we created it. There were 4 product design students,1 communications arts student, and one working musician.

The house offered an opportunity to experience college as a team and to work together to enhance our strengths.

As times changed so did the residents. What was once majority students from Otis College of Art and Design transformed into majority musicians working together to form a production agency. As the agency grew so did the residents in the house. The Villanova Artist Collective was now made up of the young film makers and musicians of Temecula, and Murrieta, California.

This group of creative artists age 17-21 worked together forming a production company that they called; Wa Le Mo Productions. Wa Le Mo went on to produce several short independent films, under the wings of  the Mary Pickford Institute and the Henry Stotsenberg Foundation.

As the house became more involved with the up and coming art and music scene of the greater los angeles area, the network of friends connected to the house grew. The production team now acquired their own warehouse space in Culver City and was involved with many bands and underground venues.

By 2012 the residents were made up of a diverse group of artists, performers, dancers, musicians, designers, writers, poets, etc.

Since then have The Villanova was involved with various venues in downtown Los Angeles. Such as The Fort, The Church of Fun, Towne, All Different Colors, The Cozy Castle and more. As well as community projects like, "Wildflowering L.A." and fundraisers to support local artists.

The Villanova is best known for it's creative community and on going devotion to art.

The Villanova Artist Collective has been home to about a hundred residents over just a seven year period and has brought together thousands of los angeles based creatives.
